This week I would like to tell you a little bit more about the lovely soft toys from Keel Toys.

Established in 1947, Keel Toys is a third generation, family run business, under the directorship of brothers, Richard, David, John and James Keel. Each plays an active role within the company on a daily basis in the capacity of Managing Director, Financial Director, Sales Director and Marketing Director respectively.

Keel Toys has a solely UK based design team who are key to their success: "We combine innovative design with cutting edge fabrics, technologies and finishing techniques to create the most modern and more importantly beautiful range of soft toys in the market place today! … and by the way we have a lot of fun doing it too!"

The thing I most love about Keel Toys range is that their teddies are fun and colourful with real personality and they are great value for money. Like the fabulous Mini Motsus which make great little pocket money collectible toys or the larger teddies such as the Keeleco Wild Cats or the ever-popular Dinomotsu!

Keel Toys are always striving to become a more eco-conscious brand and with that in mind they have developed their incredible new Keeleco range.

Keel eco is the NEW 100% recycled range from Keel Toys. These eco-friendly toys are manufactured and stuffed with 100% recycled polyester from plastic waste. Weighted with recycled glass beads, these floppy toys have been perfectly designed for hugging by a loving new friend. They've really considered everything with this range and even the Keel Toys tags are made from recycled cardboard and stitched on with cotton making the whole toy entirely plastic-free. The Keeleco range was awarded the prestigious Toy Hero award at the 2020 London Toy Fair and don't even get me started on how incredibly soft this new range is!

So there you have it from super cute dinosaur teddies to 100% recycled wild animal plush toys Keel Toys have a little something for everyone!

I hope you love the awesome Keel Toys range as much as I do!

This week I would like to tell you a little bit more about the fabulous wooden toy brand: Tender Leaf Toys.

Tenderleaf Toys make some incredible wooden toys including an absolute Happy Cat Kids favourite - the Espresso Machine! One of the things I was drawn to with this brand is that their toys fun and imaginative with beautiful colourful designs:

"We create exciting worlds of imaginative wooden toys, that are made to last with a lifetime of love. We strive to continuously develop and grow our charmingly quirky products, that are engaging, tirelessly entertaining, and perfect for little hands. While we love to be educational through play, we encourage every child to be authentic so that they can grow with confidence, and have fun at the same time!"

Each of the Tender Leaf toys is lovingly designed by their designer Danielle and then the team spend a couple of months every year with their suppliers in Indonesia working side by side to ensure that every single Tender Leaf Toy fits their strict criteria for design and safety. The family-run factory in Indonesia operates with high standards of training, wellbeing and respect and provides dependable employment for hundreds of local villagers.

Tender Leaf Toys are deeply committed to protecting Indonesia’s natural resources and only work with reclaimed rubberwood, a by-product of the latex industry. In addition, for every reclaimed tree it uses, Mentari, the factory in Indonesia plants a new one, driving ahead the cycle of regeneration. Mentari & Tender Leaf Toys have been awarded the ICTI Ethical Toy Program seal of approval for their ethical and sustainable supply chain

Tender Leaf also supports Eden Projects here in the UK, who are now recognised as one of the most effective re-forestation projects on the planet. For every order placed with them, they plant 10 trees.

Every single stage of production for these wooden toys happens in the same family-run factory. Once each toy has been hand-painted, assembled and checked, it is wrapped in paper and packaged in recycled cardboard

"We care a lot about being as sustainable to our lovely planet as we can be, and we are close to eliminating single use plastic in all our packaging."

So as you can see, purchasing a beautiful wooden toy from Tender Leaf Toys is very much both a sustainable and ethical choice.

I hope you love the beautiful Tender Leaf range as much as I do!

This week I would like to tell you a little bit more about the lovely German brand of play figures - Schleich

Founded in 1935 by Friedrich Schleich in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Schleich is one of the biggest toy manufacturers in Germany today and the leading international provider of realistic animal figures. The design of the figures and play worlds, the manufacturing of the production tools and also the quality and safety tests are performed in Germany to this day.

As a company Schleich have made it their task to give children an understanding of animals and their natural habitats. With the detailed, authentic and hand-painted figures, children can gain valuable knowledge about the world of animals and learn about nature in a playful manner. This has turned into six different themed worlds with over 600 lovingly designed and high-quality individual figures which are specially designed to appeal to children in their different stages of development.

"At Schleich we believe that promoting creativity and a rich imagination is one of the most valuable gifts you can give a child. The best part of it is: a child’s creativity as well as their imagination develop almost by themselves with the right playing concepts.

Our guiding principle: the materials used and safety of the figures are tested with the utmost care. All products and the materials used meet or exceed the strictest applicable national and international requirements. Thus, high-quality and carefully designed products are developed every day that not only fascinate children, but also delight you as parents.

We craft our figures with great attention to detail, from the first sketch to the final design of the lifelike figures. Each one of our figures is unique and is still painted by hand today. We believe that children can feel this individuality."

What I really love about Schleich is their incredible attention to detail - each and every figure is still lovingly hand-painted. When creating new models they involve specialists from museums and zoos to ensure that they are lifelike as possible and every detail is accurate and correct. Some prototypes can take up to 8 weeks to model with each hair and fold of skin applied individually!!

They also create amazing Worlds that their figures inhabit from Farm World to the Bayala World of fairies and unicorns the play possibilities are endless and each individual figure comes with it's own story and some fun facts about the animal and creature!

I hope you love the fantastic Schleich range as much as I do!
